League City Household Hazardous Waste Event

Do you have hazardous materials that need disposal? League City’s Household Hazardous Waste Event is the perfect opportunity to safely get rid of them.

The following information is from The City of League City:

Our fall Household Hazardous Waste disposal event is coming up! The event will be held at Hometown Heroes Park on Saturday, September 14, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. League City residents will need to bring their driver’s license and a recent water bill as proof of residency.

Accepted items:

• Paint-related materials
• Household cleaners
• White goods (free of freon) 
• Microwaves
• Batteries (no rechargeable batteries)
• Electronics (TVs, computers, and monitors), 
• Pool chemicals
• Aerosol cans, 
• Tires (maximum of 4)
• Fluorescent bulbs. 
• Containers should be sealed and in their original packing. Place leaking containers in a larger, non-leaking container.

Unaccepted items: 

• Automotive fluids (oil, antifreeze, brake fluid, etc.)
• Hazardous chemicals not in original containers
• Business/commercial waste
• Medical waste (pharmaceuticals, sharps, and needles)
• Radioactive waste
• Ammunition
• Explosives
• Compressed gas cylinders
• Smoke detectors 
• Items without their original labels cannot be accepted
